The Sheraton received reviews that placed it #7 out of 746 hotels in the Dominican Republic and #1 out of 118 hotels in Santo Domingo.

Our country welcomed 1.7 million visitors in the first quarter of the year. Many Dominicans have regained confidence in flying to visit family, explore new destinations, or conduct business. For this reason, RED Air has increased the frequency of its Miami route. “Comparing passenger data from Santo Domingo to Miami in the first quarter of 2022 and 2021, there has been a 78% increase. Looking at nationalities, Dominicans account for 57.4% of the total, followed by Americans,” notes Astrid Pérez, Commercial Manager of RED Air.

World Bank maintains growth projection for the Dominican Republic; warns of risk of stagflation
The Dominican Republic is one of the few countries in Latin America and the Caribbean for which the World Bank did not change—or reduce, as it did for nearly two dozen other nations—its growth projection for 2022 in its most recent "Global Economic Prospects" report. The multilateral organization maintains its growth projection for the country at 5.0% for both 2022 and next year, as it indicated in a similar report published in January of this year.

Brigades from the Ministry of Public Works are working at full speed on the Traffic Distributor, a cloverleaf type at kilometer 9 of the Duarte highway, which will expand this latter road from 8 to 14 lanes, and from four to six the section of Luperón Avenue (under the overpass).
