SANTO DOMINGO.-The final report delivered yesterday, Tuesday, to the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, proposes the regularization of Haitian labor, one of the main difficulties that sectors such as agriculture and construction have faced, in the face of the massive plan of repatriations of illegal Haitians, launched by the current Government.
"Yes, that is included and there are concrete proposals on that, the issue was addressed and there are recommendations on how to handle that issue," declared Rafael Toribio, president of the Economic and Social Council (CES), when asked about it by the media.
The report contains more than 150 proposals and 26 lines of action regarding the Haitian crisis and its implications for the Dominican Republic. The document will be made public next Tuesday, September 16 , at 2:00 p.m., after being delivered to all former presidents involved in the process through their representatives.
Toribio said that the creation of a mechanism to monitor the implementation of the agreed proposals was also proposed
"This mechanism is so that it doesn't just remain something well written, but that there is the possibility of monitoring compliance with these agreements that representatives of the political, social, labor and business sectors were kind enough to develop and present," he explained.

President Luis Abinader received the Consolidated Final Report of the Dialogue on the Haitian Crisis and its implications for the Dominican Republic, the result of six thematic roundtables in which representatives of the social, labor, business, and organized civil society sectors, representatives of the president, and representatives of the three former presidents participated.
The handover took place at the National Palace at 4:00 p.m. and was led by the president of the CES, Rafael Toribio, accompanied by the other members of the institution. The president formally received the original physical copy of the document, along with a USB drive containing the report and the six most recent minutes from each thematic working group.
During the event, President Luis Abinader praised the collaborative effort and commitment of national sectors to provide responsible solutions to the Haitian crisis.
