SANTO DOMINGO.-The Office for the Reorganization of Transportation (OPRET) informed users of the Santo Domingo Cable Car that the partial suspension of this service will be extended until further notice due to scheduled maintenance work being carried out on the section between station T1 Gualey and T3 Sabana Perdida of said system.
In a press release, Opret explained that while these works are being carried out, buses from the Metropolitan Office of Bus Services (OMSA) will continue to operate at no additional cost, as an alternative service, to facilitate the mobility of users.
Since operations resumed this Tuesday after the holiday commemorating the birth of Juan Pablo Duarte, OMSA announced it has doubled the number of buses transporting passengers to the Santo Domingo Cable Car. Additionally, the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Transportation (Digesett) will assist with passenger flow.
The transportation authority also reiterated that passengers from Los Tres Brazos (T2) will be transported to the Ercilia Pepín Metro station by OMSA bus and vice versa. Meanwhile, passengers from Sabana Pérdida (T3) will be transported to the Rosa Duarte Metro station and vice versa.
Furthermore, the institution reported that the resumption of service on that section will be announced as soon as the work has been completed through the usual communication channels.
Finally, Opret assured that the maintenance day is part of the institution's commitment to guarantee a safe and efficient service to the thousands of citizens who use this transportation system every day.
