Finance & Real Estate highlights the Dominican Republic as a key destination for real estate investments

SANTO DOMINGO.– The second edition of Finanzas & Real Estate brought together representatives of the financial sector, developers, investors and professionals linked to the real estate market in Santo Domingo, in a day focused on financial education, investment and sustainable urban development.

The meeting, held at the Catalonia Santo Domingo hotel, included conferences, panels and networking spaces aimed at analyzing the growth opportunities currently experienced by the Dominican real estate sector, especially in tourist and urban centers.

During the opening of the meeting, finance and real estate investment specialist Yudelka Parra highlighted the Dominican Republic's position as one of the most dynamic real estate markets in the Caribbean.

“The Dominican Republic is a hub for real estate investment in the Caribbean,” Parra said, referring to the sustained growth of residential, tourist and mixed-use developments in destinations such as Punta Cana, Bavaro, Santo Domingo, Santiago, Puerto Plata, Miches and Pedernales.

Sector highlights growth, digitalization and legal certainty

The expert noted that the country's real estate development has been supported by tools such as trust structures, the digitization of government processes, and tax incentives linked to tourism.

He explained that these elements have contributed to strengthening the confidence of local and international investors, as well as improving transparency and efficiency in the execution of projects.

“The adoption of fiduciary structures has allowed for safer and more efficient project management, while digitization has reduced time and improved processes,” he said.

He also highlighted the impact of Law 158-01 on Tourism Development Promotion (CONFOTUR), considered one of the main incentive mechanisms for tourism real estate investments in the country.

Universities present their vision for the “City of the Future”

As part of the agenda, students and representatives from the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (INTEC) and the Open University for Adults (UAPA) presented proposals related to the “City of the Future 2036” initiative.

The exhibitions covered topics related to vertical urban growth, population density, green spaces, mobility, land use, and quality of life in Dominican cities.

The participants proposed urban models focused on sustainability, planning and resilience, taking as a reference the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Investment, finance and urban development

The day included conferences and panels led by national and international specialists in the financial and real estate sectors.

Among the participants were Raúl Tufik, Pamela Pichardo, Gabriel González, Stephanie Cabral, Enrique Canela and Lucía Peralta, who presented topics related to smart investment, financial organization, entrepreneurship, asset dollarization and real estate market trends.

The panel “Smart Real Estate Investments” was also held, moderated by Yudelka Parra and Lucía Peralta, with the participation of representatives from the banking, business and real estate development sectors.

In addition to the conferences, the meeting included business rounds, strategic relationship spaces and bank pre-qualification processes with participating financial entities.
