US News & World Report included Punta Cana, in sixth place, and Puerto Plata in 21st place, on its list of “41 Cheap Tropical Vacations That Feel Expensive”.
The publication notes that it selected vacation spots with "stunning" palm-fringed beaches and year-round warm weather.
The list includes cozy bed and breakfasts, luxury hotels, and all-inclusive resorts.
Located in the east of the Dominican Republic, “Punta Cana” occupies the sixth position on the list, where they highlight that its beaches have soft white sand, crystal clear waters and a variety of all-inclusive resorts at different prices.
He explains that all-inclusive resorts allow guests to combine meals and drinks, and indoor or outdoor activities for an affordable price, in an idyllic setting along the Caribbean Sea. He also points out that Punta Cana hotels typically offer numerous swimming pools, some with swim-up bars, and a wide variety of restaurants and activities for everyone; and options are available for adults only and for families, in many cases with rates that do not exceed US$150 per night for double occupancy.
