PUNTA CANA, LA ALTAGRACIA. – Punta Cana Airport (PUJ) obtained Level 2 Customer Experience Accreditation from the Airports Council International (ACI).
“This recognition is a testament to the teamwork, innovation, and passion that characterize our airport. We will continue working to continuously improve and offer an increasingly personalized and efficient service. We thank our passengers for joining us on this journey, as we strive to offer them excellence at every step and a memorable experience,” stated Giovanni Rainieri, Airside Operations Director at the airport.
Punta Cana Airport is the first in the Dominican Republic to obtain triple ISO certification (9001, 14001 and 14064-1) and, at the same time, receive ACI Level 2 Carbon Footprint accreditation, highlights a press release from the Group.
The document explains that customer satisfaction surveys, such as ACI's ASQ, are important resources that help airports focus on the most impactful actions for their customers. "They encourage airports to use the results to identify key priorities that will operationally contribute to customer satisfaction," the document states.
The Airports Council International (ACI), a non-profit organization founded in 1991 through the merger of several associations, is currently the leading professional organization dedicated to uniting airport teams worldwide. It is headquartered in Montreal, Canada.
For its part, PUJ was inaugurated in 1983 and is the first privately owned airport for international commercial use in the world, the busiest in the Dominican Republic and the most connected in the Caribbean, linking 64 cities and 26 countries around the world, moving eight million passengers a year.
It has two runways, 27 boarding gates, 30 aircraft parking positions, and three VIP lounges. It also has its own Recycling and Incineration Center, where 60% of the waste it generates is recycled.
