From Monday to Friday, the 27 de Febrero overpass will undergo painting work, which includes surface preparation and painting of elements.
SANTO DOMINGO- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications will close to vehicular traffic, from this Monday, June 17th, until Saturday, June 22nd, underpasses including bridges and overpasses in order to perform maintenance on these structures.
In any case, the closures will be in both directions and in some cases partial, and will be in effect from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am, which is when the brigades involved in each case take action.
The work to be carried out in both upper and interior areas includes solid waste collection, sweeping and collection of aggregates, weed control, general cleaning of the surroundings, including drains, pressure washing of 'New Jersey' type walls.
This Monday, the overpass on Avenida 27 de Febrero will be closed (in both directions), as will the Juan Bosch and Duarte bridges (with partial closure), and the tunnel at 27 de Febrero with Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill.
It is noted that from Monday to Friday, the 27 de Febrero overpass will undergo painting work, which includes surface preparation and painting of elements.
Also, electrical work will be done on Monday and Tuesday on the pedestrian bridge of Kennedy with Churchill, while on Wednesday and Thursday identical work will be carried out on the overpass of Charles De Gaulle with Hermanas Mirabal avenue, and only on Friday at the Gasset-Uasd Tunnel Control Center.
On Tuesday, the overpasses at John F. Kennedy Avenue with Doctor Defilló Street, and Kennedy with Núñez de Cáceres, will be closed; as well as the underpass at 27th Street with Tiradentes, and the Las Américas Avenue tunnel, the latter with extensive work until Wednesday.
Also on Wednesday, there will be closures at the underpasses of 27 de Febrero and Doctor Defilló, as well as on the Marginal and Las Américas tunnel. Similarly, the overpasses at Kennedy and Lope de Vega, Tiradentes, and Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln will be closed.
On Thursday, closures will be implemented on the overpasses of 27 de Febrero with Ortega y Gasset, the one at Kennedy with Ortega y Gasset; the one at Marginal de Las Américas with Avenida Estados Unidos and with Avenida Hípica; the underpasses at 27 de Febrero with Máximo Gómez and with Tiradentes; at Kennedy with Gómez; at the Juan Carlos bridge; at Charles De Gaulle with Avenida Ecológica, and from this with the Marginal de Las Américas.
On Friday, the closures will be on the overpasses of the Las Américas highway with José Francisco Peña Gómez street (Boca Chica), with the road to Puerto Caucedo, the Andrés overpass, the La Caleta overpass, the Route 66 overpass (East-South and Southwest); the Santo Domingo-Samaná road overpass, and the Jubey-Boca Chica road overpass.
Also close on Saturday the overpasses of the V Centenario Expressway with Tunti Cáceres Street and with Peña Batlle Street, as well as the Máximo Gómez overpass with Nicolás de Ovando.
