Public Works will close tunnels and overpasses this week for maintenance

SANTO DOMINGO.-The Ministry of Public Works and Communications will close various overpasses in Greater Santo Domingo (including tunnels, overpasses and bridges) to vehicular traffic, starting Tuesday, January 3, and extending until Saturday, January 7, in order to carry out maintenance work.

In each case, there will be a total closure, and the hours will be from 10:00 at night to 5:00 in the morning of the following day.

Last night, Tuesday, the overpasses on John F. Kennedy Avenue with Doctor Defilló Street and Núñez de Cáceres were closed; as well as the tunnels on 27 de Febrero Avenue with Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill and Tiradentes, and the one on Las Américas Avenue.

Maintenance work will also be carried out on the Ortega y Gasset Tunnel Control Center on Tuesday and Thursday. This work does not require a closure.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, the following will be closed: the John F. Kennedy overpasses with Lope de Vega, Tiradentes and Lincoln; the underpasses of 27 de Febrero Avenue with Doctor Defilló, Carmen Mendoza de Cornielle, Núñez de Cáceres and Privada, and the tunnel of the Las Américas marginal road with Las Américas Avenue.

On Thursday, the closure will be for the overpasses at 27 de Febrero with Ortega y Gasset and Máximo Gómez; Kennedy with Ortega y Gasset and Máximo Gómez; the Juan Carlos bridge, Charles De Gaulle avenue with Ecológica, marginal Las Américas with Estados Unidos avenue (Los Tres Ojos), and Ecológica avenue with marginal Las Américas (dry bridge).

On Friday the 6th, there will be a closure at the Jubey-Boca Chica overpass, on the Las Américas highway overpass with the Puerto de Caucedo road, with the entrance to Boca Chica, 7th/6th Street, Route 66 with Hípica Avenue.

On Friday and Saturday, maintenance will be carried out on the Juan Pablo II highway crossing (Santo Domingo-Samaná road), with a partial closure.

On Saturday, work will be carried out on the overpasses of the Expreso Quinto Centenario with Tunti Cáceres and Peña Batlle, and the elevated section of Máximo Gómez with Nicolás de Ovando.
