SANTO DOMINGO. – The Ministry of Public Works and Communications ( MOPC ) announced that the Floating Bridge over the Ozama River will be closed to vehicular traffic for three hours today, Wednesday, June 16, 2025, due to the scheduled passage of large vessels.
According to the state entity, the closure will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to facilitate the departure of the ships BZA Winbuild 1810 R/M Alpamayo and RM Svitzer Bison, whose maneuvers require the complete opening of the navigable channel.
In a statement, the Ministry of Public Works urged drivers and regular users of this important road, which connects the Dominican capital with Santo Domingo East, to take the necessary precautions and use alternate routesto avoid problems during the indicated time.
This measure is part of the maritime coordination protocol that guarantees the safetyof both navigation and those transiting through this infrastructure.
