SANTO DOMINGO.-The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) reported yesterday that today, Saturday, January 4, 2025, the tunnel on 27 de Febrero Avenue, between Winston Churchill and Abraham Lincoln Avenues, will be without power due to work being carried out on the emergency power plant.
Through a statement, the entity announced that from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the replacement of the automatic transfer switch of the emergency power plant located in the control center of the aforementioned section will be carried out.
“Given that this intervention involves the electrical disconnection of the medium voltage line, in order to carry out the aforementioned work, according to the established schedules, the tunnel will be in darkness, that is, without lighting until the work is completed,” explained Public Works through the social network Instagram.
Likewise, in the information note, the institution asks citizens to drive with caution and moderation, reducing their speed and turning on their lights as a precaution when crossing through the tunnel.
