The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) also announced that it will close vehicular traffic on the Floating Bridge over the Ozama River for two hours this Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
SANTO DOMINGO.-The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) reported that today, Saturday, October 7, work will be carried out to place a pedestrian bridge over the 6 de Noviembre highway, in the Las Arenas community, near Quita Sueño, in Haina, so a temporary detour of vehicular traffic will be enabled there.
The detour on that section, which will be in both directions, will take place from 6:00 pm on Saturday the 7th of this month to 6:00 am on Sunday the 8th of October 2023.
A note from the MOPC's Communications and Press Department highlights that while these works are being carried out, traffic will be diverted along the service road of the same highway, for which two lanes have been enabled.

The work to be carried out by the MOPC is part of the design and construction work of the Road Infrastructure Improvement Project in the North-South connections of Santo Domingo.
Vehicles traveling on the 6 de Noviembre highway towards Santo Domingo must access the detours established by the MOPC in these cases.
Close floating bridge
The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) also announced that it will close vehicular traffic on the Floating Bridge over the Ozama River for two hours this Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The closure of the structure, which connects the National District with the municipality of Santo Domingo East through the Villa Duarte area, will be for the passage of a vessel.
The information was provided by the Director of Bridge Maintenance of the Ministry of Public Works, engineer Romer Francisco Pérez Vargas, through the Directorate of Communications and Press.
In both cases, the MOPC apologizes to the public, especially to drivers who regularly travel through these areas, for any inconvenience these measures may cause.
