SANTO DOMINGO.– The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) will close several structures in Greater Santo Domingo to vehicular traffic from Monday, October 7th until Saturday, October 12th, including overpasses and bridges, to carry out maintenance work.
The closure will begin at 10:00 pm and will continue until the work is completed; in some cases it will be total and in others partial.
The work to be done includes solid waste collection, sweeping, weed control, general cleaning, drainage, painting, lighting, among others.
From Monday to Wednesday there will be closures at the overpasses of Konrad Adenauer Avenue (Charles de Gaulle) with Hermanas Mirabal, in the municipality of Santo Domingo Norte and John F. Kennedy with Máximo Gómez.
This Monday, work will be done on the Juan Bosch and Juan Pablo Duarte bridges, as well as the 27 de Febrero overpass.
From Tuesday to Thursday, the John F. Kennedy overpass at Ortega y Gasset is closed.
On Tuesday, the closures will be for the Kennedy and Defilló and Kennedy and Núñez de Cáceres overpasses, the long tunnels of 27 de Febrero between Lincoln and Churchill, and Las Américas between Sabana Larga and Venezuela avenues.
On Wednesday, the closure corresponds to the overpasses of 27 de Febrero with Defilló, Carmen Mendoza and Privada, Marginal Las Américas, the Kennedy with Lope de Vega and Tiradentes overpasses, Kennedy with Abram Lincoln and the tunnel of Marginal Las Américas.
From Thursday to Friday, the Las Américas marginal road will be closed at the intersection of Avenida 27 de Febrero and the Gregorio Luperón bridge.
Only on Thursday will work be done on the overpasses of Avenida 27 de Febrero with Máximo Gómez, 27 de Febrero with Tiradentes, 27 de Febrero with Ortega y Gasset, Kennedy with Máximo Gómez, Charles de Gaulle with Ecológica, Ecológica with marginal Las Américas (dry bridge), and Juan Carlos bridge, the Kennedy with Ortega y Gasset overpasses, and marginal Las Américas with Avenida Estados Unidos (Los Tres Ojos).
Also, on Thursday the Ortega y Gasset (UASD), Las Américas, 27 de Febrero between Lincoln and Churchill control centers.
On Friday, the following overpasses will be closed: Las Américas with José Francisco Peña Gómez Street (Boca Chica), Las Américas with Puerto Caucedo Road (Caucedo), Las Américas with 7/6 Street (La Caleta), Las Américas with Route 66 (East-South), Las Américas with Route 66 (South-West), Las Américas with Hípica, and Las Américas with (Andrés Boca Chica), the Jubey Boca Chica road underpass (dry bridge), and Santo Domingo Samaná.
Meanwhile, on Saturday the 12th, the overpasses of Expreso Quinto Centenario with Tunti Cáceres and Peña Batle, and the elevated section of Máximo Gómez with Nicolas de Ovando, will be closed.
