SANTO DOMINGO.-The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) will close various overpasses and bridges in Greater Santo Domingo to vehicular traffic from Tuesday, December 3rd to Saturday, December 7th, for maintenance purposes.
MOPC brigades will collect solid waste, aggregates, control weeds, clean the environment and drainage, both in lower and interior areas.
Closing times begin at 10:00 PM and will continue until work is completed.
From Tuesday until Friday, the Duarte highway overpass at the Sánchez road (Piedra Blanca de Bonao) will be closed.
Also, from Tuesday to Thursday the overpass at John F. Kennedy Avenue with Doctor Arturo Defilló will be closed.
Only on Tuesday will the tunnels of 27 de Febrero (between Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill), Las Américas, the Kennedy overpass with Núñez de Cáceres, and the 27 de Febrero underpass with Tiradentes be closed.
On Wednesday, the closure will affect the underpasses at 27 de Febrero with Núñez de Cáceres, 27 de Febrero with Carmen Mendoza, and Defilló, 27 de Febrero with Privada, and marginal Las Américas, marginal Las Américas tunnel, and the overpasses at Kennedy with Lincoln and Kennedy with Lope de Vega and Tiradentes
Thursday brings closures to the overpasses of the Las Américas marginal road with the United States (Los Tres Ojos), Kennedy with Ortega y Gasset, and 27 de Febrero with Ortega y Gasset, the overpasses of 27 de Febrero with Máximo Gómez, Kennedy with Máximo Gómez, Juan Carlos bridge (dry bridge), the overpasses of Charles de Gaulle with Ecológica, and this with the Las Américas marginal road.
On Friday, the closures will be for the Las Américas overpasses (Andrés Boca Chica), Las Américas with José Francisco Peña Gómez street (Boca Chica), Las Américas with Puerto Caucedo road (Caucedo), Las Américas with 7/6 street (La Caleta), Las Américas with Route 66 (East-South), Las Américas with Route 66 South-West), the Jubey-Boca Chica road overpass (dry bridge), and the overpass towards the Santo Domingo-Samaná route.
Also, on Friday the control centers of the Ortega y Gasset tunnel (UASD), Las Américas, 27 de Febrero between Lincoln and Churchill.
For Saturday, the overpasses of the Expreso Quinto Centenario with Tunti Cáceres and Peña Batlé streets, and the elevated section of Máximo Gómez with Nicolás de Ovando.
