SANTO DOMINGO.– Government offices will be open until 4:00 pm on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, or “Holy Wednesday,” according to the provision established by the Ministry of Public Administration (MAP).
“Heads of public bodies, entities and companies are free to establish special working hours and days, due to the nature of their functions and services, in order to guarantee the provision of services they provide to the public,” states the circular signed by the head of the MAP, Darío Castillo Lugo.
The decision was made by the MAP in its role as the governing body for public employment and the quality of public services, in compliance with the provisions of Article 51 of Law No. 41-08, on Public Service, and Article 27 of Regulation No. 523-09, on Labor Relations.
Castillo Lugo urged public servants to dedicate time to reflect and spend with their families, and to stay informed about the measures taken by the Emergency Operations Center (COE) if they are going to travel to the interior of the country.
