SANTO DOMINGO – Banco Popular Dominicano invites everyone to share the joy of Christmas with a new edition of “The Miracle of Christmas,” the traditional theatrical production that has become one of the most anticipated cultural events of the season. This year, performances will take place on the afternoons of Sundays, December 14 and 21, and on Thursday, December 25, Christmas Day, as a gift for the whole family to enjoy.
More than 6,000 people gather each year at the Torre Popular complex during these three performances, which recreate the birth of the Baby Jesus and convey a message of peace, unity and hope.
The play, now in its thirty-fifth edition, is performed by employees of Banco Popular and their children, who take on the roles of the cast and the Popular Choir, reaffirming the spirit of integration and teamwork that characterizes the organization.
A special tribute
This edition is presented with a feeling of sorrow, as for the first time it will not have the direction of the renowned playwright Iván García, author and director of "The Miracle of Christmas", who passed away in March of this year.
His artistic and human legacy will live on in every scene, as a testament to the commitment to culture and tradition that he helped forge more than three decades ago.
A gift that transcends
“The Miracle of Christmas” is not just a show, but an experience that strengthens family bonds and enriches Dominican cultural identity. Several generations of Dominicans have witnessed this theatrical production, which has become a deeply moving family celebration.
With this initiative, Banco Popular keeps alive a 35-year tradition and reaffirms its purpose of sharing values that inspire harmony and hope in society.
The performances will begin at 6:30 in the afternoon and will culminate with a fireworks display, to the delight of young and old alike.
