SANTO DOMINGO- The National Statistics Office (ONE) announced that it will extend the data collection period for the X National Population and Housing Census until November 30, due to incidents that occurred during the first week.
“With the goal of ensuring that all Dominicans can fulfill their right to participate in the 2022 National Population and Housing Census, which represents the largest and most important statistical operation carried out in the Dominican Republic, the ONE (National Statistics Office) announced that, given the incidents that occurred during the first week, the technical decision was made to extend the data collection period to guarantee coverage of the census process, if necessary, until November 30, 2022,” reads a statement released by the entity to the media.
They indicated that several municipalities are already closing, and others need additional days to complete the workload process.
The census registration process was delayed due to some problems on the ground that occurred at the beginning of the process.
