Santo Domingo.- The Metropolitan Bus Services Operator (OMSA) announced that during the 2024 Holy Week holiday it will continue to provide transportation service to the population that remains in the city, but with changes to its service schedules.
In a press release, the public transport service entity reported that until Wednesday, March 27, buses will be running on their usual schedule, from 5:40 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., while in the following days changes will be made until Monday, April 1, the day on which the regular circulation schedule will resume.
On Holy Thursday, March 28, the institution's buses will run from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. From Good Friday to Easter Sunday, March 29, 30, and 31, the buses will run from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
As usual, the entity's general manager, Radhamés González, calls on citizens to be prudent, to consume alcohol in moderation, and to respect traffic laws to prevent the large number of incidents that have been recorded for years during these days.
With the Holy Week operation
OMSA reported that this year it has made available 47 bus units to transport the Civil Defense and COE personnel who will work on the Holy Week operation “Conscience for Life 2024”, which will begin next Thursday, March 28 at 2:00 p.m., and will end on Sunday, March 31 at 6:00 p.m., which seeks to reduce the number of incidents that usually occur during these dates, including poisonings and traffic accidents.
