SANTO DOMINGO- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) will close several overpasses and bridges to vehicular traffic for maintenance in Greater Santo Domingo from Tuesday, November 5th to Saturday, November 9th.
Closing times begin at 10:00 PM and will continue until work is completed.
The MOPC brigades will collect solid waste, aggregates, control weeds, clean the surroundings and drainage, both in the lower and interior areas.
From today, Tuesday, until Friday, maintenance will be carried out on the elevated section of John F. Kennedy Avenue, Dr. Fernando Arturo Defilló.
On Tuesday, the tunnels on Avenida Las Américas between Venezuela and Sabana Larga, and on 27 de Febrero between Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill, will be completely closed; as will the Kennedy overpass with Núñez de Cáceres, and the 27 de Febrero underpass with Avenida Tiradentes.
This Wednesday and Thursday the closures will be for Kennedy with Máximo Gómez.
Also, this Wednesday the following will be closed: the overpasses at 27 de Febrero with Defilló and Carmen Mendoza, 27 de Febrero with Núñez de Cáceres and with Privada, the Kennedy overpasses with Lope de Vega and Tiradentes, Kennedy with Lincoln, the Las Américas marginal tunnel, and the Las Américas marginal overpass.
Thursday night will see closures on the overpasses of 27 de Febrero Avenue with Ortega y Gasset, Kennedy with Ortega y Gasset, Las Américas marginal with Estados Unidos Avenue (Los Tres Ojos), the underpasses of 27 de Febrero with Máximo Gómez, Kennedy with Máximo Gómez, Juan Carlos Bridge (dry bridge), Charles with Ecológica, and Ecológica with Las Américas marginal (dry bridge).
On Friday, the following sections will be affected: Las Américas with José Francisco Peña Gómez Street (Boca Chica), Las Américas with Puerto Caucedo Road (Caucedo), Las Américas with 7/6 Street (La Caleta), Las Américas with Route 66 (East-South), Las Américas with Route 66 (South-West), the Jubey-Boca Chica Highway overpasses (dry bridge), and Santo Domingo towards Samaná.
Also, on Friday the control centers of the Ortega y Gasset (UASD), Las Américas, and 27 de Febrero tunnels between Lincoln and Churchill, and the Las Américas overpass (Andrés Boca Chica),
Only on Saturday will the overpasses of the Quinto Centenario expressway with Tunti Cáceres and Peña Batle, and the Máximo Gómez overpass with Nicolas de Ovando be closed
