LA ROMANA- The public space renovation program launched yesterday by Minister David Collado on the Caleta boardwalk in this district includes a 600-meter stretch of paved road and concrete sidewalks.
The public space beautification project will cost 96 million pesos and includes the restoration of the section from La Playita park to El Botello.
This inauguration is part of the Dominican government's plans to renovate the country's tourist destinations. The improvements are located on the waterfront of the Caleta de La Romana municipal district.
Minister Collado highlighted the importance of this intervention, which will make the destination more attractive.
"By starting these works here in Caleta, we are addressing a long-standing demand and continuing to fulfill our program to turn every corner into a tourist destination," he declared.

The project also includes stormwater drainage with a system of pipes, collectors and complementary facilities to collect runoff water from rainwater, such as storm drains, filter wells and grates.
The project will facilitate communication between the town and important and emblematic tourist attractions.
The intervention also includes the reconstruction of infrastructure, renovation of the Mirador Vista Catalina park (formerly Botello park) and Playita park, viewpoints with benches and urban equipment, as well as road improvements with their works of art.
Also included are electrical installations and lighting fixtures, a rainwater drainage solution, landscaping, green strips on both sides of the vehicular and pedestrian traffic routes, gardens in the internal area of the leisure space, and seedling trees.
The work will be carried out by the Executive Committee for Infrastructure in Tourist Areas (Ceiztur).
