Housing fair announced for August 18-20, 2023

SANTO DOMINGO– The National Housing Plan for Happy Families (PNVFF), the Banco de Reservas, and the Dominican Confederation of Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Construction Companies (COPYMECON) announced that they will hold a real estate fair from tomorrow, August 18th, until the 20th of this month, 2023, where anyone wishing to purchase a home can participate.

“As developers of low-cost housing projects, under the modality of Law No. 189-11 of Trusts in the Dominican Republic, we will carry out this event to provide a roof of their own to every human being who does not have one, with the objective that they stop living in rented accommodation and move on to having formal housing, offering them the facilities of COPYMECON, PNVFF and Banreservas which, by instructions of the government headed by Luis Abinader, will give the due attention,” said Eliseo Cristopher, president of COPYMECON.

He said that construction SMEs are working together to reduce the housing deficit in the country, and that they are receiving government support through the PNVFF and Banreservas, which are responsible for selecting buyers and providing affordable financing to people who need housing under the plan.

He highlighted that Camel Curi, Vice Minister of Investment Projects of the Ministry of the Presidency, in charge of the Happy Families Housing Plan, in a meeting with the various unions that group journalists, who were formally integrated into the PNVFF.

He noted that executives from Banco de Reservas were also present, led by Ms. Paola González, business manager, who announced financing facilities with up to 8% annually, among other benefits of the Happy Families Housing Plan, which will grant several bonuses, with first home, ITBIS bonus, Rate bonus and MOTHER bonus, among other facilities.

“At COPYMECON, we work to reduce the housing shortage, with the goal that every Dominican who does not own a home can obtain one with dignity, with the facilities that the institutions involved have announced, with the guarantee of hundreds of construction MSMEs, which we have promoted for the development of the country and the growth of the economy,” highlighted the president of the small construction companies. 

Cristopher also announced that all members of the country's media will receive a bonus of up to 5% of their severance pay. He reiterated his call to all press workers to participate in the event scheduled for Thursday the 18th, Friday the 19th, and Saturday the 20th of this month to learn about housing projects and, most importantly, that the PNVFF and Banreservas will be checking the credit histories of interested parties.
