SANTO DOMINGO.– A total of 1,130 families in this community received their property titles for homes and lots, in a ceremony led by President Luis Abinader, which also represents the second stage of this major project in El Tamarindo.
It includes a total of 2,237 certificates for families in the Kennedy I & II, Méjico Lindo, El Tablazo and Margara I & II sectors, in areas exceeding 352,000 square meters.
In his words, the head of state reiterated the emotion he feels upon seeing in these acts the true face of useful politics, which puts people at the center, giving them wealth and security and allowing them to create new horizons, with the increase in the value of their properties and access to formal credit.
Salvador Sánchez, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, said that this is a momentous day in which a long-awaited dream has come true. “Mr. President, we thank you. Today we have a legal document that confirms our ownership of our houses and lots.”.
He also told the president to continue creating social policies in favor of the Dominican people, especially the poorest.
For his part, the director of the Technical Implementing Unit, Duarte Méndez, indicated that thanks to President Abinader's commitment to all Dominicans, the State is assuming the cost of obtaining these titles, avoiding the payment of 178,960,000.00 to the beneficiaries.
“Ladies and gentlemen, if today you, like more than 84,000 Dominican families, have received your property titles, it is because our president, Luis Abinader, is convinced that these property titles change lives, giving peace and security to all Dominican families.”.
In total, the land titling project in El Tamarindo will impact more than 13,881 families, including the remaining 8,500. It will be carried out in four phases. The first phase, which benefited 4,251 families on January 18th, is worth noting.
Méndez also added that the property titles for the first phase of El Almirante and also for the La Ureña, Villa Carmen and Brisas del Edén sectors are ready.
Among those present were the (interim) Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Igor Rodríguez; the directors of National Assets and the CEA, Rafael Burgos; of the IAD, Francisco Guillermo García; of the National Cadastre, Héctor Pérez Mirambeaux; Senator Antonio Taveras; Mayor Manuel Jiménez; and the mayor-elect Dio Astacio.
