65% of the entries to the Finance with Purpose Academy are made from mobile phones and 35% from desktop computers.
SANTO DOMINGO.– Banco Popular Dominicano reported that the Finance with Purpose Academy, its free digital initiative to promote financial education in the country, is registering greater participation from women, who currently make up 60% of the platform's 16,267 users.
"This female leadership in the interest in personal finance training is a trend that is strengthening in 2024 compared to 2023. Last year, women represented 52% of the platform's users compared to 48% of men," a press release highlights.
According to the document, the most in-demand courses include topics such as credit card management, basic finance, debt management, and saving, which shows an interest in improving household financial planning and control in key areas of daily life.
Another interesting fact is that, currently, 65% of visits to the Finance with Purpose Academy are made from mobile phones and 35% from desktop computers, which indicates the convenience of consuming the platform's content and learning about personal finance at each person's own pace.
Increase in certified people
At the Finance with Purpose Academy, those interested can find multiple resources for their financial education, including podcasts, articles, informational capsules, templates, downloadable guides, and courses.
When internet users complete the courses, they receive a certificate that verifies their completion of the training. In these months of 2024, 131 certificates have been awarded, 7% more than in 2023.
The academy has received a total of 142,547 visits since October 2023 and has achieved 3,210 new registrations in the same period.
New courses and innovations
As part of its ongoing development, the Finance with Purpose Academy now offers two new courses: "My First Home" and "Analyzing Financial Statements to Improve Your Business Finances." In addition, in the coming months, it will launch "Financial Adventure," a course for children designed to foster early financial literacy.
"These efforts are complemented by more than a dozen new templates and practical guides such as the 'Guide to allocating 20% of my income to savings' and the 'Guide of steps to save for my first home', among others, which provide useful tools to improve the management of the family budget and savings habits," notes the information note from Banco Popular.
