The CAASD and Public Works Department reported that they will have a fleet of 150 tanker trucks available to meet the demand in the affected areas.
SANTO DOMINGO.– As part of the construction work on the overpass being built by the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), at the intersection of 27 de Febrero Avenue (extension) and Isabel Aguiar Avenue, in the municipality of Santo Domingo Oeste, the Santo Domingo Water and Sewerage Corporation (Caasd) announced this Monday that it will carry out technical work to remove and relocate pipes.
A press release highlights that these works will limit the drinking water service in some sectors of the aforementioned district.
This was reported by engineer Luis Salcedo, from CAASD, and Vice Minister Roberto Herrera, from MOPC, who detailed that the brigades from the institutions will carry out work on the drinking water distribution line, starting on Monday, October 7.
In that regard, it was announced that the teams will work continuously for a period of 10 days, so during that time the service of the precious liquid will be limited for some sectors of Greater Santo Domingo.
Salcedo highlighted that both CAASD and Public Works will have a fleet of 150 tanker trucks to supply the demand of the impacted localities.
The engineer also detailed that the areas that will have limited drinking water service include El Café de Herrera, Ensanche Altagracia, Residencial Santo Domingo, Zona Industrial de Herrera, La Mina, Guajimía, Paraíso, Engombe, Residencial Iván Guzmán, El Abanico, El Palmar, Colinas de Engombe, Residencial Loyola y Ureña, Altos de Engombe and Palacio de Engombe.
The public's understanding was requested, and apologies were offered to users for any inconvenience caused during the work. "We know what this means for families and traffic, but it's necessary, always prioritizing quality and the shortest possible time," the official stated.
The work will be carried out in collaboration with the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant) and Digesett.
