“Be loyal, don’t steal clients from other colleagues, don’t use all kinds of advertising, be careful what you say on your networks, invite the client to your office, among other sound suggestions, aimed at achieving a good practice of the real estate career.
SANTO DOMINGO- Real estate agents who wish to expand their practice in the world of real estate must appeal to one word: Ethics, which the Royal Academy of Language defines as the set of moral norms that govern a person's conduct in any area of life.
Alenny Garabito and Teresa Pérez gave advice last night to a group of beginners, who are part of the more than 170 participants in the CBR 01, of the AEI, Dominican Association of Real Estate Agents and Companies.

They recommended that the new agents take the real estate profession seriously and adhere to ethics as their main ally in performing their duties.
“Do not enter if you are not going to take it seriously, because it would damage the business and the image of those of us who are working for a decent practice that adheres to the rules and good customs,” the exhibitors requested.
Garabito and Pérez, active members of the Association and part of the teaching staff for the certification aimed at new real estate agents, offered a set of ethical tips for those entering the sector to begin the profession with the help of good practices.
“Be proactive, don’t inflate the commission, inform us if there are referrers, but honestly and from the beginning; don’t use photos of other runners, arriving late to the appointment or not informing us is not right,” the ladies stated.

“Be loyal,” they continued, “don’t steal clients from other colleagues, don’t use every kind of advertising, be careful what you say on your social media, invite clients to your office,” among other sound suggestions aimed at achieving success in the real estate profession. Their advice was guided by the AEI Code of Ethics.
The course
“CBR 01 Certification, Real Estate Training and Management for New Agents” is taught by a group of experienced professionals who share their knowledge and experience in the sector, motivating new brokers to constantly train and update themselves and enter the real estate business with sufficient information and mastery of the topics related to the sector.
Throughout this week, twenty hours of virtual training will be held via Zoom, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. This is the first course of its kind held in 2022, part of a series of training courses that the AEI will conduct throughout the year as part of its educational program.
Regardingthe AEI Code of Ethics
In compliance with the provisions of the AEI's Bylaws, the Ethics and Regulations Commission, after conducting a comparative study of the Codes of Ethics of different real estate associations around the world, published its "Code of Ethics of the Association of Real Estate Companies of the Dominican Republic," in order to provide the entity with an instrument that fairly and equitably regulates the relationships between its members.
The document also seeks to establish clear rules and solutions to the various conflicts that may arise from negotiations involving real estate brokers, both as intermediaries and as key players in real estate transactions. Its objectives include:
To regulate and create the basis for carrying out joint ventures, to prevent unfair competition through its conciliatory power of a disciplinary nature, to promote cooperation among its members, to disseminate information to keep its members up to date, to offer technical assistance through the conduct of courses and workshops, to try to achieve uniformity in the forms and documents used in carrying out operations, and to support the legitimate interests of its members by providing assistance and guidance.
