SANTO DOMINGO.- “Steel Tonic” was the event that the Dominican Institute of Construction in Metal Structures (IDCEM) called to celebrate its first anniversary, which brought together a large group of businessmen and suppliers from the country's steel construction sector.
The Cava Alta restaurant in Santo Domingo was the setting for the meeting, which was staged in partnership with Carrujo Empresarial, a company specializing in the sale of personal protective equipment and industrial safety.
Brand executives said the main purpose of "Steel Tonic" was to commemorate the first year of IDCEM's founding and to present the results of the institute and Expo Acero Santiago 2023, the first specialized fair for the metalworking industry in the country, which held its first edition in October of last year in Santiago de los Caballeros.
During the celebration, details were offered of what to expect in the next edition of Expo Acero, whose first edition had the participation of 52 national and international companies with representation from Panama, USA, Spain, Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Turkey, Venezuela and Puerto Rico and a total of more than 3 thousand attendees who met during the 3 days.
One of the highlights of "Steel Tonic" was the alliance between IDCEM and Carrujo Empresarial, a testament to the joint commitment of both organizations to training, strengthening and promoting the steel sector in the Dominican Republic, according to a press release.
Francisco Javier Durán, founder of IDCEM and Expo Acero, highlighted the advantages of participating in the fair, both for business owners in the sector and for engineering and architecture professionals. "Expo Acero offers a unique platform for knowledge exchange, exploring new technologies, and networking. Furthermore, it provides the opportunity to learn about the latest trends in the metalworking industry and establish strategic alliances that will drive growth and innovation in the sector," he noted.
Regarding IDCEM, he said that in its first year of operations it has consolidated itself as a comprehensive platform that seeks to strengthen the steel sector in the Dominican Republic, with the realization of 6 face-to-face workshops, 2 international webinars and a trade fair where more than 20 talks were given.
