In La Romana, in the East of the country, the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, led the delivery yesterday Saturday of 104 apartments of the Happy Family National Housing Plan, in the Riberas de Cumayasa Residential, in La Romana.
The new homes, developed by the Rabiensa Group, are part of the first phase of the complex, which will consist of 400 housing units. The residential complex is located in the Villa Hermosa sector.
During the handover of the homes, the official highlighted that most of the families receiving their apartments today are headed by women, which demonstrates the value the Government places on the efforts of women and single mothers to raise their children.
“I would like to highlight a very important fact: 64% of the families benefiting from the Plan have a woman as head of household, and 22% have been favored with the Women's Bonus,” Peña said, addressing the beneficiaries.
He highlighted that the Riberas de Cumayasa residential project is a new example of how public-private partnerships are bringing development and well-being to Dominican society.
"The Happy Family National Housing Plan continues to fill the hearts of thousands of Dominicans with joy, who have benefited from housing that has basic services and common areas designed for the full development of the entire family," he stated.

For his part, the Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos Echavarría, reported that to make the Riberas de Cumayasa Residence a reality, the Government contributed more than RD$90 million, through the various bonds provided by the aforementioned plan, and that the developer allocated more than RD$600 million.
“One of the highlights of this project is the incentive program we’ve implemented to ensure these homes are accessible to everyone. The Initial Incentive is essential support that facilitates access to homeownership, reducing the initial financial burden that is often an insurmountable barrier,” emphasized Santos Echavarría.
He indicated that the ITBIS Bonus is another fundamental part of the plan, because it covers the cost of the Tax on the Transfer of Industrialized Goods and Services (ITBIS), which eliminates an additional expense, so that the dream of owning a home becomes more attainable for everyone.
“In addition, we have implemented the Interest Rate Bonus for the first seven years, which guarantees a low, fixed interest rate during the initial years of the mortgage loan, providing stability and financial predictability for families while they settle into their new homes. It is an economic relief that allows families to plan their future with greater security and peace of mind,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the project developer, Rafael Bienvenido Santana, expressed the satisfaction felt by the company he represents upon seeing the joy of the families who have acquired the apartments, which were built with the highest quality standards and designed so that those who inhabit them have a space with all the comforts required.
“We are extremely happy to see that we have completed this first stage, which makes 104 families homeowners, fulfilling one of the main dreams of every human being: to own their own home,” said Santana.
