Country house with new luxury hotel built for US$90 million

In Casa de Campo, La Romana, President Luis Abinader yesterday led the inauguration of a new 64-room suite hotel, with an investment of $90 million, a new bet for luxury tourism in the main tourist center of the Dominican Republic, as represented by the East Zone.

The newly opened hotel is part of the first stage of a multi-phase expansion project and features new suites, a Premier Club and a modern spa center, with spacious rooms, suites overlooking the golf course that will be equipped with the latest technology and amenities for the well-being and enjoyment of its visitors.

President Abinader recognized Casa de Campo, in the tourism sector of the Central Romana Group, as an innovative project from a real estate point of view, where new developments in the hotel sector open every year.

He added that, while it had been renovated as a sign of excellence and quality in the international hotel sector, this expansion of the Casa de Campo Hotel, whose first groundbreaking took place about 18 months ago, is a sign that the hotel industry, like the rest of the country, is moving forward.

“It is a fact that we are supporting and will continue to support this type of project that helps at all levels, it helps the development of the Casa de Campo company of Central Romana, which has been a development for many years of benefits for La Romana, for the country and also, obviously, benefits for the shareholders of this great company,” Abinader declared.

The president explained that together with Central Romana they will work on new projects to improve efficiency and mechanization in the agricultural sector. He added that they will also have the support of the Government to ensure the best possible implementation, as has been a long-standing tradition of efficiency for this company.

“Therefore, today we are very happy because in this Government we have been able to achieve this expansion of these hotel rooms, and with the success they already have and will have, I am sure that the board will meet soon and they will finalize further expansions in Casa de Campo,” he said.

The president thanked Casa de Campo, Central Romana and their executives for these investments and expressed that they can continue to count on the firm support of his Government, which believes in the business and general development of the Dominican Republic through job creation.

“Creating more jobs is how a country can truly achieve social and economic development at all levels—for the most needy population, the middle class, and the upper class,” Abinader explained.

For his part, the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, highlighted that the Dominican Republic is an example of how to manage the alliance between the public and private sectors, and how to handle the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said the government welcomes the new facility in Casa de Campo, which will be for the enjoyment of tourists.

Meanwhile, the president of Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, Andrés Pichardo, appreciated the president's confidence after highlighting the efforts made through the government to continue positioning Dominican tourism in the world.

"With these new facilities, we are expanding the luxury tourism offerings of our country and fulfilling the vision of our shareholders at Corporación Central Romana to continue increasing the value and quality of our resort, reaffirming that our exclusive service offerings satisfy the demands of the most discerning visitor, and thus we continue to be a benchmark as a tourist destination," he added.

A luxury spa

The spa center boasts world-class facilities and amenities, including a hydrotherapy area, specialized treatment cabins, relaxation areas, a juice bar, and an exclusive VIP suite. The Premier Chib is a private lounge where guests staying in the new suites receive personalized service and exclusive amenities.

The ceremony was blessed by the bishop of the Diocese of Our Lady of La Altagracia, Monsignor Jesús Castro Marte.
