PUERTO PLATA. The Cibao Savings and Loan Association inaugurated its first branch in the province of Puerto Plata, as part of its strategy for geographic expansion and strengthening its service network nationwide. With this opening, the institution now has 58 offices in the country and extends its presence to a province with economic activity linked to commerce, services, and tourism.
The institution's arrival in the city known as the Bride of the Atlantic is part of a territorial growth strategy aimed at expanding access to financial services in regional economic hubs. During the opening ceremony, Executive Vice President of Business, Rebeca Meléndez, noted that the opening reflects the entity's commitment to sustainable development, emphasizing the importance of providing reliable and timely financial services to support individuals, families, and businesses.
From a financial perspective, the CEO of Asociación Cibao, José Luis Ventura, emphasized that the organization is establishing a presence in Puerto Plata with a solid foundation. As of December 2025, the institution reported assets of RD$111,145 million and a net loan portfolio of RD$66,161 million, figures which, he indicated, allow them to support productive projects and financial needs in the province and its surrounding area.
The new branch was designed to offer a comprehensive financial service, encompassing personal and business solutions, supported by modern operational processes and service channels aligned with current market demands. In this regard, Joel Díaz, the branch manager, explained that the office will allow them to directly serve clients in Puerto Plata and surrounding areas, facilitating access to the institution's products and services.
The space's design incorporates accessibility and inclusion criteria , with facilities for people with disabilities, as part of the institution's commitment to equitable financial services. Furthermore, the Cibao Association indicated that it will continue to promote social responsibility initiatives, financial education, and community support in the province, integrating these actions into its vision of sustainability.
With this opening, the entity advances in the expansion of its network of offices in the national territory, reinforcing its service structure and its presence in different provinces, in a context where the strengthening of the regional financial system is key to supporting local economic development.
