MicroQuanta Semiconductor, a Chinese specialist in perovskite solar energy, has commissioned the world's largest agrivoltaic plant. This 8.2 MW photovoltaic installation, featuring 90 Wp perovskite panels, is located in eastern China (Lishui, Zhejiang Province). This announcement marks a historic milestone, as it is the world's largest photovoltaic plant built with perovskite technology that also integrates agricultural energy into the agricultural sector.
The mother of all solar power plants is located on previously unused land in the mountainous county of Songyang. It has 95,648 modules of 90 Wp each, measuring 1,245 mm x 635 mm and weighing 12.5 kg. The panels are arranged at a 22-degree angle to take advantage of the natural slope of the land.
Furthermore, the inner edge of the panels is raised 2 meters above the ground to allow for agricultural use beneath the solar panels. This project, the mother of all solar power plants in China, has been designed to withstand the hot, rainy summers and mild winters of the region where it is located.
Furthermore, it has been adapted to varying solar exposures and the specific needs of crops, combining renewable energy with agriculture. MicroQuanta asserts that its perovskite modules outperform traditional passivated rear-contact (PERC) panels under less favorable sunlight conditions, such as those found in southern China. This is due to their low temperature coefficient, optimal performance in low light, and cost-effectiveness.
The modules exceed stability certification according to the updated IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) . MicroQuanta provides a 25-year linear power rating guarantee and a 12-year warranty on its panels.
Under these circumstances, China inaugurates the mother of all solar plants with a project capable of creating life under the panels.
