SANTO DOMINGO – In 2017, as a Category 5 hurricane ravaged St. Martin, Barbara A. Warren had already made a decision that at the time seemed impulsive, but which turned out to be providential. On the eve of the disaster, she felt she had to leave.
He bought a ticket to Santo Domingo, packed only the bare essentials, and left behind his home, his office, and the stability he had built over twenty years. The next day, all that remained was a devastated island.
Her home and workspace vanished beneath the impact of the wind and sea. What for two decades had been her professional center—a modeling agency and her work in market development for renowned international hotel brands—was reduced to rubble.
She landed in the Dominican Republic with a light suitcase and the certainty that she had to start over.
A bond of origin
Although born abroad, the Dominican Republic has always been a part of her identity. Her mother is Dominican, and she spent time studying in Santo Domingo during her childhood. At six years old, she said that one day she would live here. That childhood statement remained suspended in time until adversity made it her destiny.
The first few months weren't easy. She lived with friends and family while trying to rebuild her life. Going from a solid and visible career to a period of uncertainty was a complex emotional process. Rebuilding herself required patience, humility, and discipline.
However, adaptation has been a constant throughout his career. His forty years of residence in France, coupled with his time in the United States and Mexico, allowed him to develop a multicultural perspective that has become his greatest strength. He understands how foreign investors think, what they are looking for, what their fears are, and what kind of support they need when entering a new market.
He found in the Dominican real estate sector a platform to channel that experience. He specialized in foreign investment in tourism and residential projects, particularly in areas such as Punta Cana, Miches, and Puerto Plata.
More than just selling properties, it advises on complete processes: investment analysis, financial planning, profitability projection, and strategic support throughout the entire process.
She is part of an international team that has allowed her to strengthen her digital presence and expand her global reach through her brand, Exp by Legends International Team. Bárbara is convinced that customer service is the foundation of any business and that trust is built with clear information and constant follow-up.
She acknowledges that being a woman, a foreigner, and over 40 in a competitive market presents additional challenges. She has faced prejudice and resistance, but she has also learned to stand firm in her convictions: she knows her worth, her qualifications, and
her track record.
From Santo Domingo, she organizes her time with structure and balance. She believes in working with focus, but without sacrificing quality of life. Her new project as the country representative for a European brand of sustainable prefabricated homes reflects this modern, efficient vision, aligned with international trends in real estate development.
Barbara didn't arrive seeking opportunities; she arrived fleeing a loss. However, she transformed disaster into momentum and turned her landing into a second chance. This time, with firm roots and a clear purpose.
