SANTO DOMINGO.-Banco Popular Dominicano was recognized by the business magazine Summa as one of the best employers in Central America and the Dominican Republic, according to a ranking that identifies companies with the best labor practices, incentives and development opportunities in each organization.
Banco Popular ranked second nationally out of 25 companies classified as the best employers in the Dominican Republic. Regionally, it placed 28th out of 55 companies from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, and the Dominican Republic.
According to the publication, this year's "Best Employer" ranking includes the concept of environmental sustainability as a business factor that is "increasingly relevant for recruiting and retaining the best employees in the market," something in which Popular has excelled for decades.
The magazine compiled this ranking using a sample of 1,000 business owners, executives, and professionals from the region, whose responses served as the basis for identifying the best employers.
