SANTO DOMINGO.– Banco BHD announced that it will hold the third edition of its BHD Tourism and Investment Forum, with the theme "Tourism Trends in the Caribbean: Beyond Coastal Tourism."
The BHD Tourism and Investment Forum is the only Dominican event within the FITUR framework that provides specialized content on the tourism sector. Each year it features the participation of the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, and the President of Banco BHD, Steven Puig, according to a press release.
It adds that the activity is being carried out as part of the bank's participation in the exhibition and will feature presentations by leading national and international experts in the sector.
The press release cites Jacqueline Mora, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Tourism; Salim Arkuch, Vice President and General Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean of Expedia Group; Christopher Imbsen, Vice President of Policy at the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC); Antonio Fungairino, Director of Development at Hyatt Inclusive Collection; and Alejandro Cambiaso, founder and president of the Dominican Association of Health Tourism.
It is worth noting that the forum's first edition was presented at Fitur 2024 with the theme "Sustainable Tourism: Current Situation, Perspective, Mitigation Measures, and Best Practices." The second edition, held in 2025, focused on opportunities within the Dominican Republic's tourism economic ecosystem.
"At Fitur 2026, BHD will have a full agenda of business meetings to facilitate and promote investments in the development of Dominican tourism, and will be present at the Fitur 2026 venue with a delegation headed by Steven Puig, president of Banco BHD," the information explains.
Fitur 2026 will take place from January 21 to 25 of this year in Madrid, Spain.
