SANTO DOMINGO.– Arajet, the Dominican low-cost airline, launched a promotion offering flights for one dollar plus taxes to stimulate tourism to and from the Dominican Republic.
According to the company, this promotion allows travel to Mexico City, Cancun, San Jose, Guatemala City, San Salvador, Cali, Barranquilla, Cartagena, Bogota, Medellin, Lima, Kingston and Saint Maarten.
“For two days, from February 16 to 17, we will be offering an incredible fare of just $1 to travel to our destinations in North, Central, South America and the Caribbean,” said Chema Alvarado, Chief Commercial Officer of Arajet.
Alvarado added that with this offer they seek to position themselves as the best option for travel between Dominicans and foreigners who want to come to the Dominican Republic and have a limited budget.
The promotion is valid for flights from March 15 to May 31 and from September 1 to October 30, 2023; excluding the dates from April 1 to 11, 2023.
Requests permission to begin route to the USA
The airline requested this week that its Economic Authorization Certificate be amended to include six new routes to the United States.
The information was released by the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), which issued a notice of a public hearing to be held on February 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the "Lic. Norge Botello F." meeting room, for the purpose of reviewing Arajet's request.
The new routes would be: Santo Domingo/ New York/ Santo Domingo; Santo Domingo/ Miami/ Santo Domingo; Santo Domingo/San Juan, PR / Santo Domingo; Santo Domingo/ Orlando/ Santo Domingo; Santo Domingo/ Boston/ Santo Domingo; Santo Domingo/ Providence/ Santo Domingo.
