The need was established to create projects that respond to the needs and aspirations of the populations.

The Association of Housing Developers and Builders of Cibao (APROCOVICI) successfully celebrated the Santiago version of “Innovating to build the future of Real Estate”, a day dedicated to rethinking real estate development in a global environment marked by digital transformation and constant change.

The event brought together leading international experts who shared statistics, strategies, and innovative experiences for addressing the challenges and opportunities of today's real estate sector. The main objective was to explore new ways of building, marketing, and communicating in the real estate industry, promoting a sustainable and up-to-date approach.

Themes

Ignacio Torres, director of the Mexican firm 4S Real Estate, shared statistics on the new preferences of real estate buyers, analyzed by age, occupation, and lifestyle. He highlighted that younger people value community, experience, and the possibility of personalization more than square footage.

“The world has changed, and with it, the aspirations of young people, families, and those over 50. Understanding these changes is vital to developing projects that truly connect with their target audiences,” Torres stated. She also commented on the importance of addressing connectivity, automation, and electric mobility

Regarding the city of Santiago, praised for its remarkable economic and real estate development, Ignacio Torres stated that so far "Santiago has done well" and going forward "it must make well-thought-out decisions in order to continue with sustainable real estate development over time.".

Art

Philippe Demers, from the international firm Massivart, presented the importance of art as a tool for connection in urban spaces. “More than creating a beautiful sculpture, it’s about building an emotional connection with the place and with the people,” he stated.

Jorge Gerini, from Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos, presented several projects with habitable, open spaces that respect nature and the cultural identities of a place.

Next, Monique Céspedes of 4S Real Estate offered a perspective on purpose-driven branding in the real estate sector. “Today’s consumer analyzes lifestyle, security, and inspiration. Emotional connections are what truly last,” Céspedes noted.

Previously, the president of APROCOVICI, Sandy Rodríguez, reaffirmed the institution's commitment to continuous professional development and to promoting spaces that foster dialogue and the exchange of ideas in the sector.

The activity was made possible thanks to the support of companies such as METALDOM, Asociación Popular de Ahorros y Préstamos, Asociación Cibao de Ahorros y Préstamos, Banreservas, Asociación La Nacional de Ahorros y Préstamos, Ingeniería Estrella, Banco Popular Dominicano, Cemento Cibao, Grupo Therrestra, Ferretería La Fuente, Banco BHD and Ferretería Ochoa.
