SANTO DOMINGO.- Engineer Annerys Meléndez, with more than 20 years linked to the Dominican construction sector, is the new president of ACOPROVI, the Association of Housing Builders and Promoters, having been elected during the 2023 Ordinary General Assembly and Election held last Wednesday.
He replaces architect Jorge Montalvo, who led the association during the period 2021-2023, standing out for his efforts to ensure that more and more Dominicans can access decent housing, in addition to his drive in important initiatives to strengthen the sector.
"On behalf of our Board of Directors, our members, allies and associates, we thank you for your service-oriented leadership marked by sacrifice, dedication and above all by your focus on the well-being of our associates and achieving decent housing for every Dominican," says a statement from ACOPROVI, referring to Montalvo's management.
At the same time, the association welcomed the election of the new president, highlighting her more than 12 years of experience in the institution, who in her first speech thanked them for the trust placed in her and indicated that she takes the position with the commitment and responsibility it deserves.
Meléndez will be accompanied by a team made up of Erick Bueno, first vice president; Guido Rosario, second vice president; Julissa Burgos, third vice president; Leandro Camilo, fourth vice president; Rafael Aybar, vice treasurer; Endel Guerra, secretary; Santiago Colomé, first member; Angel Paulino Gatón, second member; Pablo Piantini, auditor; Julissa Báez, representative of members and Nurys Marte, representative of corresponding members.

She is the current Vice President of Promotion and Construction at Melcon, a construction company founded 18 years ago by her, her husband, and her father-in-law, which boasts a broad portfolio of completed projects in Santo Domingo and various other parts of the country. She is the mother of three children.
He studied civil engineering at the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo, graduating summa cum laude, and also earned a master's degree in construction management.
