A business tower to promote socio-economic development will be built in San Cristóbal, a project that is projected to be one of the most impactful socially in terms of enabling spaces for mass use in that southern province.
The Corporation for the Promotion of the Hotel Industry and Tourism Development (CORPOHOTELS) recently handed over the land of the old swimming pool in this city to the Provincial Strategic Plan Council to allocate it to the construction of the project.
The title to the land, with an area of 6,215 square meters, was delivered by the director of Corpohotels, Rosendo Arsenio Borges, to José Francisco Martich, president of the Strategic Development Plan of San Cristóbal.
Martich explained that this project aims to provide spaces for the promotion of socio-economic development, improvements that will benefit community sectors, NGOs, commercial and business sectors, and will encourage significant national and international investments.
He highlighted that the initiative has the support of the Business Council for the Development of San Cristóbal, the Chamber of Commerce and Production of the Province of San Cristóbal, the Loyola Polytechnic Institute, the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), the Dominican College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (CODIA), the Catholic Church, the Rotary Club, the San Cristóbal Sports Union, the Institute of Public Accountants, San Cristóbal branch, as well as the Provincial Government, the Provincial Senate and the Municipality of San Cristóbal.
He said the goal is to create modern facilities with an open-concept layout, a futuristic vision, an eco-friendly structure, earthquake resistance, and the possibility of vertical and horizontal expansion.
It will also house a heliport and underground parking facilities proportional to the growth of the province.
As a first stage, the construction must have 4 levels, for administrative use, meeting spaces, common area, dining room, event hall, and electrification through renewable energy.
As part of the first stage of the project, the process of cleaning and preparing the land, which is currently out of use, will begin.
Likewise, the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED) initiated support for the final design of the project plans and the definition of the final execution budget.
Those present at the handover included Rafael Salazar, administrator of EGEHID, Pura Casilla, governor of the province, José Montás, mayor of the municipality, Ramón Montás, president of the San Cristóbal Chamber of Commerce, Vlamirdi Ruíz, president of the Business Council, José Victoriano, rector of the Loyola Polytechnic, Norberto García, president of the Institute of Accountants, among other personalities.
