AILA will have free 24-hour internet for travelers

It will have 24 hours of free connectivity, valid throughout the national territory

SANTO DOMINGO.- AERODOM announced a new alliance with the technology company SimLimites that will allow international travelers arriving at the Las Américas International Airport, José Francisco Peña Gómez (AILA), to enjoy 24 hours of free high-speed internet through eSIM technology, making the airport the first in Latin America to offer this benefit to its passengers.

The entity explains that the initiative is part of its efforts to incorporate innovative solutions that facilitate and improve the passenger experience, especially during the first moments of their arrival in the Dominican Republic, highlighting that the service is aimed at both tourists and Dominicans residing abroad and seeks to facilitate their communication, avoiding immediate dependence on roaming services or public WiFi networks.

This is how the connection works

AERODOM explains in a statement that access is simple: upon arrival, passengers can scan a QR code to activate, in a matter of seconds, an eSIM—a digital SIM card—with 24 hours of free connectivity, valid throughout the country. The service is provided by SimLimites, a Dominican company specializing in connectivity solutions for international travelers.

“Our mission at SimLimites is to eliminate communication barriers for travelers. We are very proud to see AILA pioneering this level of digital hospitality in the region,” said Emmanuel Wu Rivera, CEO of SimLimites.

The press release states that users who wish to continue using the service during their stay can recharge the same eSIM through the SimLimites digital platform, without needing to purchase an additional physical SIM card.

Cyril Girot, CEO of AERODOM, emphasized that this alliance contributes to strengthening the passenger experience from arrival in the country and reflects the company's commitment to innovation and continuous improvement of its services. "This alliance with SimLimites is part of our ongoing commitment to modernizing AILA and offering an increasingly efficient, connected, and convenient welcome experience for those who choose the Dominican Republic," he stated.

AERODOM points out that with this initiative it continues to incorporate digital solutions aimed at responding to the needs of travelers and raising service standards at its airports.
