SANTO DOMINGO – The way the country's airports operate is changing. Behind every flight, assigned gate, or check-in counter, a smarter, more connected system is beginning to take shape, capable of responding in real time to the dynamics of air transport.
In this process, Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom) has begun deploying a state-of-the-art digital platform across its network of six airports, with the aim of optimizing operations and improving coordination among all stakeholders involved in airport operations.
The tool integrates an operational airport database with advanced management systems, enabling real-time organization of key aspects such as flights, gates, runway positions, and check-in counters. This results in smoother operations and improved responsiveness to changes or unforeseen events.
According to information released by the company through its official channels, this technology also incorporates predictive analytics and direct communication between airlines, ground staff and operational teams, facilitating decision-making and reducing potential delays.
The system has already been implemented at Las Américas International Airport in Santo Domingo and at Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata, as part of a first phase that will accompany the growth of air traffic in the country.
The initiative is part of a broader digital transformation strategy that seeks to strengthen operational efficiency and enhance the passenger experience, aligning the Dominican airport system with international standards.
The implementation of this platform marks an advance in the modernization of the airport network, in line with the need to respond to a greater flow of passengers and the demands of current air transport.
