The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, along with directors of the Ministry of Housing and Buildings, recently supervised the construction work of the same, located on Charles de Gaulle Avenue and whose opening is scheduled for the last quarter of this 2022.
SANTODOMINGO NORTE.- With a capacity for 225 inpatients, the Nelson Astacio Hospital will strengthen the demand for services benefiting the more than 500,000 families living in Santo Domingo Norte; and whose investment is estimated at 2.8 billion pesos.
The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, along with directors of the Ministry of Housing and Buildings, recently supervised the construction work of the same, located on Charles de Gaulle Avenue, next to the Hugo Mendoza and Ney Arias Lora hospitals, and has an opening date in the last quarter of this 2022, as explained by the directors of MIVED.

The hospital's physical plant includes specialized areas for cardiology, hemodialysis, dermatology, mental health, dentistry, operating rooms, intensive care, and other services. The project encompasses not only the physical plant but also the complete medical equipment and furnishings for the entire facility.
“The Ministry of Housing has dedicated a great effort to finishing the construction of this hospital, as we understand the population's need for top-notch health services, declared engineer Danny Santos, Vice Minister of Construction at MIVED.
He said that the Nelson Astacio is one of the most modern structures and complies with all the guidelines of the Ministry of Public Health regarding hospital buildings.
During the visit, President Abinader observed the progress made on the structure and expressed his satisfaction at being able to deliver to the citizens a modern center that strengthens the health system of Santo Domingo Norte.
