SANTO DOMINGO- The Ministry of Labor, through the National Wage Committee (CNS), approved a 15.5% increase to the minimum wage for Heavy Machine Operators in the Construction Sector.
With this increase, heavy machinery operators who earned RD$23,412 will now earn RD$27,000 (15.3%), while the minimum wage for assistants was increased from RD$11,667 to RD$13,500 (15.7%), according to an institutional statement.

The note specifies that the decision resulted from several tripartite meetings in which representatives of employers and workers in the heavy machinery operator sector in the construction area participated.
The Director General of the CNS, Martín Mieses, submitted the proposal, which received a vote in favor from the representatives of the Government, the workers and the employer sector.
The note specifies that Resolution number 04/2021, which establishes the new salary scale for the sector, was issued on December 14 of this year.
