SANTO DOMINGO– The government yesterday announced its plans for Christmas 2025. President Luis Abinader reported that during the first week of December, the State will disburse RD$34.448 billion as a Christmas bonusto ensure that public employees receive their Christmas salary on time.
The head of state reported that, through the Supérate program , digital vouchers of RD 1,500 will be delivered, impacting 1 million 400,000 families.
The Social Policy Cabinet will also distribute physical card vouchers of the same amount, reaching 1,200,000 people . These will be distributed on December 4th.
He said that for five weeks, Christmas lunches and dinners, a Christmas Village, the distribution of vouchers and toys, concerts, producers' fairs and more will take place, strengthening the tradition of sharing these dates with family and loved ones.
Christmas Village
Starting Tuesday, December 2nd, "Christmas Village" will open in the gardens of the Sports Palace in Santo Domingo. As in previous years, admission will be free.
“Villa Navidad” also returns to the city of Santiago this December 3, in the gardens of the Gran Teatro del Cibao, extending, in both destinations, until Monday, January 5, 2026.
The festive season will also create spaces for the enjoyment of art through the Ministry of Culture, which will organize six philharmonic concerts by the Philharmonic Orchestra and the Dominican Big Band.
The performances will be on December 5th in San José de Ocoa; the 7th in La Vega; the 12th in Moca; the 14th in Cotuí; the 18th in Santo Domingo Norte; and the 22nd in Higüey.
The play "Christmas Fantasy" will be presented on December 16 at the Gran Teatro del Cibao, and on the 21st at the Teatro Nacional. Meanwhile, the National Handicrafts Fair will showcase Dominican talent and cultural richness from December 12 to 14 in Plaza España , and the Long Night of Museums, also from December 12 to 14 , will offer free admission and guided tours at museums throughout the country.
Christmas lunches, dinners and parties
In addition, the Government will set up 19 Christmas parks, 19 community lunches or dinners and 14 closing parties, through the General Directorate of Strategic and Special Projects (Propeep) .
Furthermore, he specified that through the Directorate of Social Assistance and Community Food (Dasac), the Christmas 360 program will be implemented , for the distribution of Christmas dinners and lunches, delivery of raw food ration kits, household goods and roof repairs for vulnerable families.
Producers' fairs
Nine farmers' markets will be held offering "all kinds of products at the best price," President Abinader stated.
These will take place on November 29 and 30 at the San Bartolo play field , Santo Domingo East; on December 3 and 4 at the Higüey agricultural fair ; on December 6 and 7 at the Temístocles Metz play field, in San Cristóbal; on December 10 and 11 at the Santiago Inespre Management ; on December 13 and 14 at the Guayubín Central Park, in Montecristi; on December 16 and 17 at the La Sabanita play field in Azua ; from December 19 to 21 at the Santo Domingo Livestock City ; on December 22 and 23 at the San Juan agricultural fair; and on December 27 and 28 in Villa Altagracia .
This agenda also includes 11 food routes for vulnerable communities, a savings program with Inespre in partner supermarkets, where food combos can be purchased at reduced prices , and in addition, 30 producers' markets and hundreds of mobile stores remain active .
Christmas bonuses and toy distribution
From December 2nd to 23rd , at 6:00 pm , Christmas carols, lighting of lights and Christmas dinners will be held in Greater Santo Domingo , thanks to the Presidential Commission for Neighborhood Development Support.
A large national gathering will be held on December 16 in Domingo Savio, with 1,000 community barbers and stylists , led by President Abinader.
Two toy distribution events will also be coordinated: one on December 22nd in Capotillo and another on December 23rd in Santiago . An award will also be given to the neighborhood with the best Christmas decorations.
