SANTO DOMINGO– Buying and selling property is a process that goes beyond simply showing properties and signing contracts. This is the view of veteran real estate advisor Elizabeth Martínez, with over 26 years of experience in the national market.
On her LinkedIn social network, the RE/MAX Metropolitana affiliate shared a reflection on the true value that an agent brings to this type of transaction.
Martínez explains that a good real estate agent prevents the seller from giving away their property, the buyer from making a mistake, and both parties from ending up frustrated. "Their involvement allows the process to unfold more smoothly, securely, and transparently. In addition to strategy and legal knowledge, the agent provides vision, empathy, and emotional support," the expert emphasizes.
He believes that real estate professionals know how to interpret not only blueprints and contracts, but also glances, silences, and family tensions. "They are able to detect what lies hidden behind a pretty facade, prevent scams, and turn vague dreams into concrete decisions," he reflects.
The advisor points out that the real estate agent also offers peace of mind when fear appears, active listening in complex family processes, structure when everything seems chaotic, faith when the buyer loses hope, and relief when someone discovers they can start over.
“A real agent doesn’t just sell your house. They give you back control when you feel you’ve lost it. And that’s something no commission can measure,” Martínez said in his post.
The reflection has been well received in the sector, highlighting the human dimension of a profession that is often perceived only from a technical or commercial perspective.
