SANTO DOMINGO - The virtual magazine Puro Wellness, produced in the Dominican Republic under the direction of Flavio Acuña and with Dominican journalist Pedro Angel Martínez as associate editor, was presented at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur 2024).
The international publication contains wellness topics, in articles, promotions,
news and sponsored content.
The topics of the first edition focus on reiki, yoga, acupressure,
relaxing wood therapy, spa, wellness retreats, Pythagorean, Tibetan and moon massages, among others, covered
by masters and experts from Ibero-American countries, including the Dominican Republic, Spain,
Mexico, Peru and Ecuador.
The space offers details of the arrival of the Wyndham Hotels and
Resorts hotel chain at the Alterra ecotourism complex in Jarabacoa, with its 120 rooms and an
investment of 40 million dollars.
Also included are details of the Flavio Acuña Spa Natural Center in Bávaro, and an extensive
article by journalist Pedro Angel on the global positioning of wellness and
opportunities to capitalize on the niche.
Acuña described how the publication brings together world leaders dedicated to wellness on five
continents with articles on the latest retreat trends combined with the
gastronomy, culture, and ceremonies of each country.
He explained that in the Dominican Republic , internationally endorsed and certified wellness retreat centers will be showcased in Bávaro, Punta Cana, Miches, Las Terrenas, Jarabacoa, and other locations.
He reported that in the next issue, world leaders will analyze trends, retreats, and
ancient techniques for global well-being.
The content, in 53 pages, can be viewed interactively with videos, moving images
, text and graphics.
Acuña is vice president of the Ibero-American Association of Wellness and Health Tourism and
ambassador in the Dominican Republic for the World Wellness Weekend. He is the Dominican Republic delegate for the World Wellness and Health Tourism Association and the American Spa Association, and represents seven international organizations in the country.
For his part, Pedro Angel Martínez is a journalist with 30 years of experience. He founded the country's first medical news outlet (www.resumendesalud.net), specializes in wellness topics, and works with various groups within that niche.
The publication was launched at the stand of the Ibero-American Association of Health and
Wellness Tourism, which had a space to promote the wellness tourism offerings of the
Dominican Republic.
