Tourism in every corner overflows with joy in Montecristi

With a spectacular artistic finale, the province of Montecristi showed that it "Has It All" by hosting the Tourism in Every Corner platform over the weekend, which promotes domestic tourism in the Dominican Republic.

Taking place in Duarte Park (Clock Park) in the main municipality, some 70 exhibitors, including gastronomy, local crafts, product sales and artistic group performances, gathered last Saturday and Sunday, offering the public the diverse offerings of each of its six municipalities.

The closing of the event was attended by the main authorities of the province, including Governor Nelsy Cruz, the mayor of the main municipality Jesús Jerez, the elected senator Bernardo Alemán and other mayors of the municipalities.

Carlos Peguero, Vice Minister of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Tourism, representing Minister David Collado, highlighted the realization of Tourism in Every Corner in Montecristi due to the enormous potential that the province possesses and to strengthen the tourism value chain in a sustainable way.

He advocated for community members to be empowered and become the main beneficiaries of the tourism product, and therefore urged them to continue working tirelessly for the development of Montecristi.

Peguero was also accompanied by the Vice Minister of Quality of Tourism Services, Roberto Henríquez, and other local and Ministry of Tourism authorities.

Meanwhile, Governor Nelsy Cruz stated that "Tourism in Every Corner" demonstrates that Montecristi is more than what can be displayed, a leader in rice and banana production, and the attraction of El Morro as a paradisiacal natural resource. Likewise, the Chivo Liniero, a local delicacy, makes it a city of enormous appeal in terms of gastronomy.

At the foot of the restored Montecristi Clock, of great historical value to this destination, a spacious stage was the scene for the performance of Los Potros, typical music groups, the folkloric ballet and typical ensemble of Mitur, a representation of the Toros y Civiles carnival.

In addition, the Raíces group, the Angeles Especiales Foundation, the JFK Joy Squadron, cane ballet groups, folk dance Miladys Pérez and Angel Castillo and the Santo Domingo group brought joy to the public, prior to the performance with a complete repertoire of typical merengue by El Prodigio who was in charge of the grand finale.
