This is what public procurement and women-owned micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the construction sector will do

SANTO DOMINGO.- The director of the General Directorate of Public Procurement (DGCP), Carlos Pimentel, and the Association of Women Micro, Small and Medium Business Owners in the Construction Sector (MUPYMECON), committed to holding a technical collaboration meeting to discuss possible solutions to the problems affecting small and medium business owners in the construction sector in the country, regarding public procurement.

The official received in his office a delegation of representatives from the union, headed by Miguelina Detset, president, where they explained the obstacles and limitations that this sector faces in its performance.

“Both parties committed to holding a technical collaboration meeting, which would involve the entire MUPYMECON membership to make recommendations regarding the various difficulties and seek solutions as quickly as possible, thus continuing to support this important sector that significantly impacts the country's development,” says a press release sent to the digital newspaper El Inmobiliario.

The working meeting was held in response to the announcement made by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, who instructed the director of the DGCP to listen to the concerns of the association, through the communication delivered at the event held for the signing of the “Great National Pact of MSMEs” on March 24, 2022, in the Auditorium of the National Police.
