SANTO DOMINGO- Aeropuertos Dominicanos XXI (Aerodom) clarified that due to a strike in Germany, the crew scheduled to fly from Gregorio Luperón Airport in Puerto Plata to Las Américas Airport in Santo Domingo did not show up for their regular service, so passengers had to be transported to the capital by bus.
Regarding the affected passengers of the flight, the concessionary company indicated that they were not abandoned, but were transferred by land to Santo Domingo.
“Last night, all the passengers on the flight to Santo Domingo arrived in the capital on buses hired by the airline for that purpose,” Aerodom explained.
Condor airline flight DE2144 departed Frankfurt (Germany) three hours late for Puerto Plata, and subsequently could not reach Santo Domingo and then return to Germany, due to a lack of crew.
He specified that the passengers who would stay in Santo Domingo were transported by bus overland, and others would be picked up at Las Américas to continue on to Frankfurt, Germany.
