To continue its sports infrastructure implementation, the executive director of the National Institute of Physical Education (Inefi), Alberto Rodríguez Mella, gave the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony to begin construction work on a modern roof at the Onésimo Jiménez High School, in the Los Pepines sector of this Cibao city.
The official said that with the construction of this building, Inefi seeks to promote sports, healthy coexistence and the well-being of this educational center and the Santiago community.
“With this roof, we seek to offer a dignified space for the practice of sports for Los Pepines and all of Santiago,” said Rodríguez Mella.
He was accompanied at the event by the governor of Santiago, Rosa Santos, as well as by the director of that educational center, Milagros Antonia Tejada, who thanked, on behalf of all the students and teachers of that school, the construction of the roof.
For his part, the Deputy Minister of Sports, Juan Vila, a native of the Los Pepines neighborhood, thanked the government for the announcement of the project in one of Santiago's most emblematic working-class areas.
