The early start foreshadowed a busy day, and soon the hall was filled with a large group of representatives who remained there until the program's closing
SANTO DOMINGO. – Business owners, investors, developers, real estate professionals, representatives of construction-related firms, and other industry players attended the Safe Metro 2026 Forum on Tuesday, September 29, organized by the El Inmobiliario under the concept “Connecting Investments.”
The day, which ran from 8:00 a.m. until past noon, began with a registration, coffee and networking session, before giving way to the welcoming words of Ana María Ramos, director of the El InmobiliarioMedia Group, who took advantage of the meeting to link the forum with the five years of history that the specialized media outlet is celebrating this month.
He highlighted its evolution and that the initiative has transformed into a media group with digital platforms, a print presence in Santo Domingo, Santo Domingo Este, Santiago and Punta Cana, in addition to projects such as Mujer de Concreto, La Ventana and the Foro Metro Seguro itself.
But the anniversary became part of a much broader conversation. For Ramos, the forum also represents a direction the group wants to pursue further in the coming years: building trust around sectors where investment decisions require information and credibility.
“An investment needs information. A project needs credibility. A buyer needs security. A developer needs trust,” he said.

With that premise, the program addressed some of the issues currently facing the Dominican market. The first panel, “Development and Profitability of New Capital Investments in the Dominican Republic,” brought together economist and former Superintendent of Banks of the Dominican Republic, Haivanhoe NG Cortiñas; economist and professor at UASD, Francisco Tavárez; and economist and PMO Manager of Desarrolladora Cruise On Land, Hernando Gómez. The discussion was moderated by Yeranni Brea, broker-owner of Remax Monumental.
The agenda continued with a presentation by Yermys Peña, CEO of Constructora Construger and CEO of Studio YP Buró, on urban planning, followed by a presentation of Cap Cana Destination City, in which Jorge Subero explained why its model works and is an option for investors.
Later, the forum delved directly into the topic of credibility in real estate transactions with the panel “Real Estate Credibility as a Competitive Advantage,” featuring Mariano Briceño, founder of Grupo Bricket; Ana Elizabeth Bello Martínez, CEO of URBLEX Abogados Consultores; and Erick Núñez, tourism investment advisor at Tu Casa RD. The panel was moderated by Juan José Darío Arce, CEO of Strategy Solutions Latin America.
Legal certainty was another key topic of the morning. Under the title “Fraud or Breach of Contract: Two Different Concepts and a Prevention Strategy,” Melchor Alcántara, CEO of Terra Signature; María Cristina Grullón, founding partner of López-Grullón Abogados & Consultores; and César A. Páez Mendoza, general manager of Fiduciaria La Nacional, addressed the differences between the two situations and the ways to prevent them. Journalist Ana María Ramos moderated this panel.
This journey through investment, urban development, real estate operations and legal security found a counterpart in the words of the director of El Inmobiliario, who stated that the growth of the Dominican sector brings with it new responsibilities.
“New projects are being built. New investors are arriving. New destinations are being developed. Cities are changing. New business models are emerging,” Ramos said, before warning that this growth also poses challenges related to construction, transparency, professionalization, and clear rules.

The idea of connecting was, precisely, one of the central themes of the day. “We want to connect knowledge with opportunities. We want to connect entrepreneurs with investors. We want to connect projects with capital,” Ramos stated.
The forum progressed through presentations, panels, and exchange spaces until reaching the audience questions and the closing of the program, which included the presentation of the five key points of the Safe Metro Forum 2026, followed by acknowledgments and the final networking.
For the El InmobiliarioMedia Group, the event also marked a five-year milestone. Ramos stated that the media outlet's purpose is not to replace decision-makers in the sector, but rather to facilitate information and discussion.
“To inform so that people can make better decisions. To create spaces so that key players in the sector can explain their projects and visions,” he said.
As the day drew to a close, the audience remained in the hall. More than 200 people had attended the program since early morning, in an event that combined discussion about the current state of the market with networking opportunities for those involved in its various sectors.
Ramos closed his speech by returning to the word that had resonated throughout the day: trust. “Because building buildings is important. Building projects is important. Building cities is important. But we also have to build something that doesn't always appear on blueprints and yet sustains any market: trust.”.
And with that idea, the closing of the Safe Metro Forum 2026 was proposed: connecting information with trust, trust with opportunities, and opportunities with development.
