SANTO DOMINGO.-Alberto Bogaert was sworn in yesterday for a new term as head of the Board of Directors of the AEI, the Dominican Association of Real Estate Agents and Companies, an entity that yesterday reached 33 years of service, being the only organization that brings together real estate brokers in the Dominican Republic.
Bogaert heads the 2022-2024 Board presidency, along with a group of outstanding advisors, with extensive experience in the sector, and where female membership predominates with five outstanding women leaders in their particular positions.
Juan Estévez is the only man accompanying Bogaert in his new term, and he will serve as first vice president. The remaining members of the board are Isely Almánzar, second vice president; Reyna Echenique, secretary; Wendy Gómez, treasurer; Christine Gómez, first member; and Indhira Desangles, second member.
During the swearing-in ceremony, the newly re-elected president highlighted the key points of his 2020-2022 term, which he explained was focused, among other things, on the need for training of members and that "the pandemic at the time we took office and the trend towards virtual training helped us.".
“We created many courses, workshops, talks, and the successful CBR01 and CBR02 certifications, which have been very helpful for agents starting their careers and for those who have been in the sector for some time and want to stay up-to-date. In these two years, some 2,000 people have participated in AEI's training programs,” Bogaert explained.
As an achievement of its 33 years of existence, the AEI cites the fact that the association enjoys a solid position and a distinctive image that makes it stand out and visible. “Today, the AEI is a benchmark at the national and international levels. The main bodies of the public and private sectors consult us and take us into account, and this is thanks to the institutional image that we have insisted on strengthening,” he commented.
Growth
“The growth of the AEI during this administration is undeniable,” says the president of the AEI, who maintains that hundreds of agents and dozens of companies have joined. As an example, he cites the increase in the North and East regions, which he explains “goes hand in hand not only with market development but also with the inclusion and development policies we implement at the association.”.
New plans
In detailing the plans for the new 2022-2024 administration, he mentions continuing to work to expand the membership, in addition to constant face-to-face and virtual training.
“In addition to strengthening the AEI's relationship with the congresses, we will form working committees so that interested agents can contribute, we will strengthen our North and East delegations, we will promote the international presence of our agents and their real estate offers, among many other things,” Bogaert commented, referring to the plans of his new administration.
He added: “During this administration, we will carry out and eventually announce many surprises from plans that we have been following and that will materialize in the coming months.”.
Indhira Desangles, who was sworn in yesterday, could not be present due to reasons beyond her control.
