The work was carried out by the Executive Committee for Infrastructure of Tourist Zones (Ceiztur), at a total cost of RD 30,744,397.

Tourism Minister David Collado inaugurated the repair and lighting of Francisco Alberto Caamaño Deñó street in the municipality of Las Terrenas, Samaná , yesterday, Friday , with an investment of more than 30 million pesos.

The intervention consisted of repairing the existing paving in the areas that were deteriorated, starting from the Fishermen's Village to Golf Project Street .

It also included the lighting of 2.45 kilometers of Francisco Alberto Caamaño Deñó street, in Las Terrenas, with the installation of luminaires and aluminum poles resistant to saltpeter throughout the road.

Collado stated that the project is part of the interventions carried out by the Ministry of Tourism in different tourist destinations, as a way to impact their communities.

“Interventions like this benefit those who visit this area, but they also change the lives of its residents,” Collado emphasized.

He stated that he believes in sustainable tourism, where residents in different destinations benefit from the economic impact of "a sector that represents more than 15% of Gross Domestic Product."

The mayor of Las Terrenas, Eduardo Esteban Polanco , highlighted the importance of this project, since the town had been waiting for the lighting of  La Ballena beach since 1993 , to make this place safer and more welcoming, which will have a positive impact on the economic dynamism of the area.

The intervention aims to guarantee the safety of users and optimize the tourist experience, offering a fully illuminated access, improving the aesthetics of the surroundings.

This investment seeks to highlight the beauty of the area, promoting a welcoming and attractive environment for tourists and residents at night.

The work was carried out by the Executive Committee for Infrastructure of Tourist Zones (Ceiztur), at a total cost of RD 30,744,397.

The Ministry of Tourism has invested more than 1.8 billion pesos in the province of Samaná during this administration, in 21 projects, of which 17 have been delivered.

The event was attended by provincial and municipal authorities, tourism entrepreneurs, and community leaders, among others.
